Genesis Elijah Guests On DJ Semtex BBC 1Xtra Show
So for his first guest of 2014 who does one of the biggest DJ's in the country call up? Yes you guessed it Mr Genesis Elijah!
Genesis Elijah passed through to talk with Semtex about his Dear Kanye track as well as the state of Hip-Hop in the UK as a whole.

50 CENT JACKS GENESIS ELIJAH'S BEAT??
Say it isn't so! In an age where US like French Montana are jumping on official remixes with UK artist the artistic gap between these two great nations has never been so small, but is there a down side to this? Are US artists hearing UK tracks then treating the beats as fair gain?
Just over a week ago Genesis Elijah released a track 'Dear Kanye' produced by Brooklyn producer The Audible Doctor and it received quite a bit of attention from both sides of the pond.
A week later the great 50 Cent released a track called 'This Is Murder Not Music' over the exact same beat!!
Now we ain't saying 50 Cent stole the beat but 50 CENT STOLE THE BEAT!!
**UPDATE** 50 Cent did NOT steal the beat
While The Audible Doctor has confirmed that he had no prior knowledge the beat was to be used by 50 Cent at the time of writing this no one in 50 Cent's camp was available for comment.
We're sure it was just a little misunderstanding but while we're here have a listen to both and decide how did a better job over this banging beat...

Genesis Elijah - Dear Kanye
It's really not a diss track and I don't want people to take it as such. I also don't want people thinking that I think I'm in a position to give Kanye advise. This is just my opinion from the angle of a supporter.
I am under no illusion that Kanye will ever hear it but if anything this could be a message to my future self or anyone who may one day find themselves in a position of power or influence.
Malcolm X once said to a congregation "This is 'Love Teaching', I wouldn't tell you if I didn't love you". This is the way I feel. I'm just a fan who wants to see an artist I look up to reach his potential. That's all.

The Answer & Genesis: FTP Radio - 10th Year Anniversary
Right now some of you are thinking "What is he going on about?" and the rest of you are thinking "Wow has it been 10 years already?" As they say time flies when you're having fun and that's pretty much what me and Answer have been doing.
Let me drop a little background (the short version) on to how this mixtape came about. See I used to work in Virgin Megastore with Answer. Me an aspiring rapper and him an aspiring DJ who both had a passion for UK Hip-Hop decided to pool our talents and put out a mixtape.
We started to sell them at events and somehow the whole thing snow balled us into a position where we had the biggest artist in the scene giving us exclusive tracks and people coming from all over the UK to buy copies.
This was pretty much my entrance into the world of UK Hip-Hop and I'll always look back at it with fond memories. It's a shame that we stopped at Vol 17 cos when I think about the potential of what we had it's pretty mind blowing. Ten years later and I still have people telling me how much they love this CD and how much it meant to them.
The fact is before us there really were no mixtapes of that calibre and no one has really taken it to the next level since.
A lot of the artist that gave us exclusive tracks went on to become some of the biggest names in UK Hip-Hop and for others this CD would be the last time anyone heard from them again. That's the game I guess.
As for Answer well he went on to work for Universal/EMI and is still promoting successful club nights and me...Well I didn't do too bad either.
Whether you're hearing this for the first time or you've had this since back in the day you can't deny the quality of this mixtape. Here's to another 10 years of UK Hip-Hop.

Genesis Elijah Named "Next Hype" By BBC Radio One DJ Zane Lowe
They say don't believe the hype but usually when Zane Lowe tips an artist to do big things those big things usually happen.

Ricky Gervais Endorses Genesis Elijah's New Track
It's not everyday that the Hollywood A list elite and the UK underground Hip-Hop scene cross paths but today was this day.
Ricky Gervais, who is getting ready to host the 69th Golden Globe awards next month had found himself involved in a bit of controversy again over comments made on twitter yesterday. As always his fans came to his defence and one of those fans just happened to be UK rapper Genesis Elijah.
Genesis Elijah tweeted Ricky Gervais with a quote from one of his songs saying "If you don't like what I tweet then unfollow and block" along with a link to the video of his song titled 'My Truth'
To Genesis Elijah's surprise Ricky Gervais then retweeted it to over a million of his twitter followers adding the word "Inspiring"
Genesis then messaged back saying "Hope you liked the track. Thanks" to which Ricky Gervais replied...
The song will feature on Genesis Elijah's forthcoming EP 'Painkillers & Pilkington' who's title is a nod to Karl Pilkington who along with Steven Merchant featured on The Ricky Gervais Show podcast

Genesis Elijah & Beezwax release video for 'Bellyfull' in support for Occupy London
Originally this song was released in 2010 on their 'Civil Unrest' EP, but 'Bellyfull' feels even more relevant in light of recent events. Genesis Elijah & Beezwax have released this video in support of the Occupy London movement.

Genesis Elijah & Dead Man Walkn Release Video for 'Reign Of Fire'
Genesis Elijah releases another track from his 'I Ain't Even Charging EP'. 'Reign Of Fire' which samples Adele's 'Fire To The Rain' was produced by Dead Man Walkn has quickly become a fan favourite on the EP that has been downloaded almost 6000 times since it's release in May. The video was short earlier this yeah while Genesis Elijah was on tour in Switzerland and features many of Luzern's tourist attractions.
